Tips & tricks for dog nutrition
Ironically, really good dog nutrition starts with drinking. Because that is just like with humans, the most important thing for your dog. But it should always be pure, fresh water. Your dog does not tolerate carbonated or sugary drinks. Just put out fresh drinking water so your darling can drink whenever they want, any time of the day.
If you go on an excursion or a particularly long walk, the only thing you should definitely take with you is water. This is especially true when it's hot. An adult dog can easily go a day without food as a fast day, but after a few hours without water, it feels bad.
Not feeding too often is better dog nutrition
The optimal amount of food depends on many different factors such as size, weight, age and breed, and activity level. The only thing that helps here is the attentive observation of whether your four-legged friend often leaves something left over or puts on some bacon. But the frequency of feeding is also important for good dog nutrition.
A puppy can often eat up to six times a day. After a while, however, you should reduce the number to two meals. As a rule of thumb, the dog has had enough after six months with just one feeding per day. If you use high-quality food such as Happy Jacky , your four-legged friend will have enough nutrients for the whole day. Nevertheless, you should always adjust the amount of food individually to your dog.
With routine for optimal dog nutrition
It is best to always feed your darling at the same time of day. Many find midday to be the best time to feed. You enjoy the positive side effect that nobody starts begging at the dining table. For the same reason, many working people also feed in the evenings when everyone is eating. For the dog it is only important that there is a certain routine.
Your four-legged friend can not only mentally adjust to the feeding times. The entire digestive tract reacts accordingly. By feeding them regularly at the same time, most dogs are much more balanced the rest of the time. You don't have to be constantly looking for food when there is definitely something to eat for lunch. For some dogs, however, this is only gray theory.
Boring dog food is usually better
We humans often love variety in food, which is not necessarily the case with dogs. It's better to just vary the taste. But don't switch back and forth between wet and dry food too often. Also, don't feed too many different treats in between. However, there is nothing wrong with a few high-quality snacks during training.
